Three days a week, the days are a little bit brighter, and the smiles are a little wider in the Memory Care Neighborhood at Traditions of Beavercreek. This is thanks to a furry visitor the residents look forward to seeing every week.

From Stray to a Beavercreek Regular

Butler, an adorable puppy with a heart of gold and those sweet puppy eyes that melt your heart immediately, visits Traditions of Beavercreek in Beavercreek, Ohio, 3 days a week. And the residents LOVE him.

Mike Egnor, Butler's dad, is a physical therapy assistant with Buckeye Home Healthcare. Butler was a stray found wandering lost at a campground. “Butler was kind of a mess, so I took him to my best friend, who was a veterinarian, and he fixed him up,” Mike said.

Mike would take Butler into the office, where he became an office favorite. When Mike transitioned to spending more time in the field, Butler missed his days in the office.

“One day, I was asked to bring Butler into the memory care unit at Traditions of Beavercreek, and the rest is history,” he said. Butler gets very excited every morning about visiting the wonderful staff and residents at Traditions.

This is great for seniors, as there are certainly health benefits to having furry friends. It’s true! Having a pet around can lower blood pressure and cholesterol, keeping hearts happy and healthy. Interacting with pets can boost seniors' physical health, and it can also sharpen their minds, an essential benefit in the memory care community! Traditions of Beavercreek is a pet-friendly senior living community for this very reason.
Butler is so popular, in fact, he is the December employee of the month at Traditions of Beavercreek!

Thanks, Butler for bringing smiles to the residents and staff at Traditions of Beavercreek.
